Aashish Baskaran // Family Life Associate
"Hi Families at Mill City,
My name is Aashish Baskaran, some of you may recognize me from being on the worship teams here last spring. I am honored to be hopping on board at Mill City and equipping those who will be serving on either the worship teams or our family life teams. My role is titled as the Worship Producer and Family Associate, and basically my role is to form an environment in both our main service and for our children that invites all ages into a posture of worship. I'm excited to see what God has in store.
A few things about me; I am a recent graduate from Bethel University. I graduated with a Psychology degree and am currently pursuing my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Bethel Seminary. I was born in India, but spent most of my life near Milwaukee, WI. I am an avid Green Bay Packer fan, a lover of anything cheese, and have been trained as a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I have a passion for music, for seeing children and families thrive, and for watching the church reach out to the communities around. I'm excited to do life with you all.
Like I said, I am really passionate about seeing children and families thrive. I have been a leader in children's ministries for the past 10 years. I began as a Preschool Sunday School teacher at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI, and since then have pretty much taught at every age level from 4 years old to 7th grade. Throughout the summer I worked at a summer camp based at Elmbrook Church that saw around 420 2nd-6th graders walk through our doors each week during the summer (8 weeks). I started out as an intern and grew in leadership over the 7 years I worked there to being the Director for the past two summers. These experiences have taught me a lot, and I look forward to seeing what God has in store this next season.I really want to help form a space where children and families are able to engage with who the Creator is, and am excited to be able to do that over here at Mill City. I would love to get to know you! So please come introduce yourself to me after the service sometime! Looking forward to a great new season!”
