Mill City Church participates with God in our neighborhood through community partnerships. We recognize that community development is slow work, but we believe that through long-lasting partnerships, rather than one-off projects, we can best participate in how God is restoring this city.

Las Estrellas Dual School (formerly Sheridan)
Las Estrellas is a Dual Immersion (Arts & Spanish) Elementary School in Northeast Minneapolis. This school was Mill City’s first partnership in the community. Little did we know that once they agreed to be the place where we host our worship services, a long-lasting reciprocal partnership would develop. We believe that Sheridan School — the staff, students, and families — helps us live out our mission to love our community in the name of Jesus.
Want to join in the partnership? Consider mentoring a child. Distribute the Sheridan Story Food Packs on Fridays. Pray with us for Sheridan School. God has been active in this school for over 100 years; we’ve just been joining in over the last few.

Every Meal (Formerly The Sheridan Story)
Mill City Church is proud to be the birthplace of Every Meal!
Join us in making sure no child goes hungry: Sponsor a child ($12 a month) or Sponsor a classroom ($3250 for 25 kids for the whole year)
The mission of Every Meal is to fight child hunger through school and community partnerships. Did you know that 1 out of 5 kids suffer from food insecurity? What started in 2010 with Every Meal and Mill City Church has now turned into a growing non-profit, serving the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. Through these partnerships, a weekend’s food supply is given to kids to sustain them over the weekend so they can come to school on Monday morning ready to learn. Learn more about the mission and how you can get involved with Every Meal by visiting their website.
Mill City’s chapter of Every Meal began in 2010 with 27 students, and we now serve about 200 students throughout the school year. With over 90% of students at Sheridan School on free or reduced lunch (or below the poverty line), we desire to bridge the hunger gap and help every kid to be well-fed and ready to learn. Sign up to volunteer packing food at Every Meal with your friends, family or team!

Elim Preschool
Housed at our worship location 685 13th Ave Northeast – Elim Preschool was founded in 1961 by Elim Church in the heart of Minneapolis, MN. Elim Preschool is one of the oldest operating preschools in Minneapolis and has become an integral part of the community. The parents who send their children to our school reflect the growing cultural diversity of the neighborhood. We are pleased to have students whose parents attended our school today.
Elim Preschool is fully accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Little Kitchen FoodShelf
This neighborhood food shelf, housed in The Grace Center for Community Life, serves 1000+ individuals every month. Offering fresh organic produce and 2-3 days of food for families with emergency needs, the LKFS offers hope and help to all its monthly visitors. Around Thanksgiving, we have a big potluck meal called “Thanks Give Serve” that brings together the MCC Community and the Food Shelf visitors to give thanks together. A team from Mill City serves with the LKFS every Tuesday Night. You are invited to serve with us as we partner with this amazing community resource. The food shelf is housed in the Grace Center in Northeast Minneapolis.

Clare Housing
Clare Housing provides affordable housing, supportive services, and compassionate care to HIV-positive individuals. For many who suffered from homelessness, Clare Housing is the home they have been looking for. Groups from Mill City eat meals with the apartment complex residents, help with ongoing needs, and most of all seek to be a family for those who don’t have one. Clare Housing has homes throughout the Twin Cities but it’s home base in Northeast Minneapolis.

My Very Own Bed
My Very Own Bed, gives children their very own bed—a place to sleep, dream, and recharge. All too often, children transitioning to permanent housing are sleeping on the floor, an air mattress, or sharing a bed with their parents or a sibling. By providing new beds and Dream Kits, they give children a space of their own while supporting productive sleep to help them learn and grow. My Very Own Bed has it’s headquarters in Northeast Minneapolis.

Converge
Converge is a movement of churches working to help people meet, know and follow Jesus. We do this by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide. For over 165 years we’ve helped churches bring life change to communities in the U.S. and around the world through church planting and multiplication, leadership training and coaching and global missions.
