Mill City Groups

Join a group (or two) that can help you connect with others!

New to Mill City Groups

These groups are designed as intentional spaces for those who are newer to Mill City to get to know others who are also new as well as connect with people who have been at Mill City for a while to be able to answer questions and help take the next steps to get more involved at Mill City.

New to Mill City groups are a six week commitment and offered in the winter, spring, and fall each year.

Neighborhood Groups

Neighborhood groups meet every second Sunday for lunch after the 10:45am worship service (start time is approximately 12:30pm) around the Twin Cities. So save the dates and find a group near you here!

Connection Groups

These groups provide opportunities for connection around common interests.

Climbing Meetups (2nd Wednesday evenings of each month) – Led by Cody Meschke

This group meets once a month to go climbing together at various locations including Vertical Endeavors Minneapolis. The climbing group is open to all – anyone interested in trying out climbing as well as climbing enthusiasts.

Crafternoons (4th Saturday of the month, 9am – 3pm, beginning February 25th) – Led by Leah Danielson

Welcome crocheters, knitters, scrapbookers, cross stitchers, painters, quilters, jewelry makers, and creatives of all kinds! This group is an open space to set aside time to get your crafting done and be creative while getting to know your community. Coloring books, markers, and colored pencils will be provided for all who want to join.

Kayak/Canoe/SUP Crew (occasionally meets during the summer months) –  Led by Heidi Stromberg 

This group plans several meetups throughout the summer around locations with boat rentals. Spontaneous meetups are also organized through the group’s Facebook page. These meetups are open to kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards.

Launch (2x a month on Thursday evenings) – Led by Launch Core Team (Contact: Cody Meschke)

Launch is made up of people in their 20s and 30s. The group gathers in homes to enjoy a meal together and engage in discipleship together in smaller groups. Launch has a strong focus on building more personal and intimate relationships by going deeper in faith with each other.

MCC Book Club (3rd Monday every other month 7-8pm) – Led by Suzanne Dahl, Mary Westerberg, and Joyce DeHaan

Book club meets every other month starting in September 2023. Books (fiction and non-fiction) are selected by a group vote in July for total of 6 books each year. Discussion moderators are group members.

Men’s Group (2x a month on Wednesday evenings) – Led By Tim Herzog and Brian Austin

Men’s Group centers around learning about each other and about Jehovah. This group supports each other during the week and build friendships. This is open to men regardless of the fellowship they belong to but initiated by Mill City men.

Mom Meetups (quarterly) – Led by Mandy Eilers 

The purpose of this group is to foster community between moms. The group organizes quarterly meetups and has an active Facebook group to stay connected. During warmer months, the group meets at a playground after the Sunday worship services.

Movie Watchers (2x a month on Thursdays from 9-10pm) – Led by JD O’Brien and John Dunne 

The Movie Watchers group meets twice a month over Zoom to discuss a movie including its themes, connections to culture, as well as asking the question: what is the gospel of the movie? The group watches movies of all types, from classics to current Oscar nominees.

Volleyball Meetups (weekly on Sunday nights at 6:30pm) – Led by Owen Boldt

This group meets every Sunday night at the 13th and Madison Mill City location. This group is open to anyone who enjoys friendly competition and building community through volleyball.
