Destino Church – South Minneapolis

Needs: Financial donations
Many in our Latino churches had lost their jobs with the COVID-19 pandemic. The events in Minneapolis and St. Paul have created even further financial challenges. The best way to help our Latino churches right now is with financial donations. Destino Church has created a fund to help resource Latino churches meet the needs of their parishioners and communities. Donate here: https://destino.churchcenter.com/giving/

Christ Community Church International – South Minneapolis

Needs: Donations of Essentials and Volunteers

In light of the current conditions in our community there is a shortage of food and daily essentials. To be an answer to the immediate needs we are becoming a distribution hub for those individuals who are unable to access the essentials. Therefore, through Bags of Hope, we are partnering with other churches to address some of the problems associated with the lack of household essentials and food insecurities.

We will need your help in the following areas:

•    Wednesday Afternoon 12:00 pm to 3:00pm Unloading donations

•    Saturday Mornings: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Bag Preparations & Set Up

•    Saturday Afternoon: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Bag Distribution

•    Saturday Afternoon 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Tear Down

Throughout the month of June, we will be distributing these essentials on Saturdays, however preparation for distribution is needed as soon as June 1st. Please contact Brittaney Abodunde at bagsofhope@ccilife.org if you would like to volunteer or schedule a donation drop off. As we convene, we will continue to practice the CDC guidelines [e.g. social distancing, mask wearing, handwashing etc.].

The Sheridan Story

Needs: Finances and Food Donations
In response to the RIOTS and COVID-19 they are accepting  food donations at their warehouse in Roseville on weekdays from 10 am to 2pm. Follow the food donation signs and you’ll be able to drop off items in tents we’ve set up in our parking lot. We will get this out to our community partners as quickly as possible so those most in need have access to these essentials.

The One Fund

Needs: Finances
The One Fund exists to support the work of local African American churches and ministries whose communities, due to historic inequities, are disproportionately impacted by the recent crises in our Twin Cities. These inequities, caused by systemic injustice, have been clearly exposed again by the effects of COVID-19 and the trauma surrounding the horrific death of George Floyd.
The Black Church has a historic role of faithfully meeting the spiritual, social and physical needs of its community. Right now these front-line churches and ministries are stretched and stressed as they seek to serve and support vulnerable communities impacted by COVID-19 and these recent traumatic events. We can help!
Partner with these churches and ministries to ensure they can continue providing critical life-giving spiritual and practical service and support to their communities.
